About Me

My photo
Fly Fish Tennessee - I am a (FIVE time) Fly Casting Champion and I've taught at THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, Knoxville. I have fly fished all my life as fly fishing was the glue that bonded me with my dad, Dr. George Still. I made my first fly rod at age 12 and attended an advanced fly tying class with my dad at age 13. I have won a number of fishing contests while growing up. I simply want to provide the OPPORTUNITY for others to enjoy fly fishing by teaching students the sport. It is a terrific way to build lifelong relationships with multiple people. It is a sport that helps with the development of Patience, Kindness, and Gentleness and of course Self Control. I also like catching BIG FISH on BIG water!!! Call 865-696-9474 and tell me your background - I want to hear it.

2014 FIGHT OF THE YEAR - 29" C A R P -- FLY FISH TENNESSEE

FLY FISH TENNESSEE
THIS 29" C A R P hit my home-made streamer as soon as it hit the water.  I felt the HIT and then I was in for the FIGHT OF THE YEAR!!!   This fish took me about 500 yards downstream and I was in my BACKING IN 4 SECONDS with drag SCREAMING as I was running down the stream like I was chasing a bus.  I was afraid to put the fish near my fly rod for the picture, for fear that she would flip and SMASH it.   I was out of breath with this one and worn out --- that why this one wins the  2014 FIGHT OF THE YEAR... so far.   Get out there (click on the picture for full effect)
