About Me

My Photo
Fly Fish Tennessee - I am a (FIVE time) Fly Casting Champion and I've taught at THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, Knoxville. I have fly fished all my life as fly fishing was the glue that bonded me with my dad, Dr. George Still. I made my first fly rod at age 12 and attended an advanced fly tying class with my dad at age 13. I have won a number of fishing contests while growing up. I simply want to provide the OPPORTUNITY for others to enjoy fly fishing by teaching students the sport. It is a terrific way to build lifelong relationships with multiple people. It is a sport that helps with the development of Patience, Kindness, and Gentleness and of course Self Control. I also like catching BIG FISH on BIG water!!! Call 865-696-9474 and tell me your background - I want to hear it.

FLY FISH TENNESSEE

This 19" Rainbow Trout took me by surprise!!!! ALWAYS BE READY!!!  This (MALE - look at his hooked jaw) hit a home-made streamer "down deep". As soon as he hit,  I could feel his head shake and he did his best to get into the moss to get off.  His best was not good enough and here he is for your viewing.  Look at his beautiful colors.  What a Fight!!!   WINNER  for my biggest fish of the MO. trip 2014!!!

FIGHT OF THE MONTH SEPT 2014 - DRY FLY

22" Rainbow Trout - DRY FLY

FLY FISHING TENNESSEE

This 22" 4 lb Rainbow Trout was feeding on dry flies "on top" and could not pass up my home made beetle... and my trusty 5X tippet continues to never fail me.   When she hit, I knew she was big as she screamed the line off the reel.  I never saw the fish until it was time to net her.  She went deep and then UPSTREAM.  You know it is big when they do that...  after about 10 minutes of following her along and keeping her out of the moss beds, she was netted for a quick release.  What a fight !!!  Ron Cattlett took the quick picture and she was revived and sent on her way.
GET OUT THERE.
